Safety, and Environmental (SHE) Technician II
The SHE Technician provides operational and administrative support for company safety programs and policies. Carries out basic inspections and tests of safety and workplace hazard monitoring equipment and systems; records and escalates anomalies, hazards and issues for resolution. Assists in Emergency Response Team (ERT) and employee training; maintains safety records, manuals and documentation in accordance with established procedures. Supports ongoing safety surveys and investigations of incidents, accidents, and emergencies.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides support to all operational and functional units of the Company to ensure compliance with all pertinent local, state and federal (OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA and DEP) regulations.Supports all Company safety, health, and environmental (SHE) programs. Instructs SHE training programs to promote safety, proficiency and awareness throughout the Company. Examples of programs are Hazard Communication, Forklift Operation, Accident Prevention techniques, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, Ergonomics, etc. Provides support to SHE committees and actively participates on each of the teams.Provides advice, direction and support to management in order to ensure a safe and healthful place of employment for all employees.Participate in new chemical reviews and maintain the SDS database. Conduct periodic inspections of the Medical Center, AED’s, fall protection equipment, first aid kits, slings, confined space meters, etc. Participate in Environmental programs which include hazardous waste, asbestos, water compliance, etc. Interface with Cobham contractors frequently during special projects or site activities. Assist with various Industrial Hygiene sampling activities. May handle hazardous waste.Requires excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Maintaining confidentiality is a must. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school or Trade School diploma or equivalent2 years working in Safety and Health dealing with workplace hazard monitoring 1 year conducting employee Health and Safety Training1 year working with OSHA regulationsExperience with maintaining safety records. Experience conducting incident/accident investigations.Requires up to 15% travel In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA citizenship.
